How to create, link, and manage the business accounts you work with as a developer on x12port. Available at /dev/clients — developer accounts only.
A developer client is a business account you manage on x12port on behalf of one of your customers. Each client has their own EDI identity (ISA Qualifier + ISA ID) and can be linked to trading partner connections, endpoints, and mapping projects you've built for them.
There are two kinds of clients:
| Type | When to use |
|---|---|
| Offline Client | You manage their EDI entirely — they don't need an x12port login. You create a profile for them with their ISA details and manage everything on their behalf. |
| Linked Client | The business signs up for their own x12port account via your developer invite link. They get their own dashboard; you remain their assigned developer. |
ZZ for mutually defined, 01 for DUNS)The client now appears in your client list and can be referenced in your mapping projects and endpoint configurations.
Click any client in your list to open their detail page. From here you can:
When building a mapping project in the Visual Mapping GUI, you can associate it with a specific client.
This lets you keep each client's mapping rules organised and separated. Saved maps are visible across all your clients,
so naming conventions matter — e.g. Acme Corp — 850→JSON Inbound.
