Document Vault

Your Document Vault stores every EDI document you upload, receive, or produce — searchable, downloadable, and ready to load into the Visual Mapping GUI. Available at /documents.

What gets stored in the Vault?

• Documents you upload manually from the Vault page
• Conversion output from the Visual Mapping GUI (when "Save to Vault" is checked)
• Documents received and processed by your endpoints (AS2, SFTP, API)
• Documents produced by the EDI Validator when you save validated output

Uploading a Document

1. Go to /documents
2. Click Upload Document
3. Select a file — supported types: .edi, .x12, .json, .xml, .csv, .txt
4. x12port detects the format automatically and parses the transaction set if it's X12
5. The document appears in your vault list immediately

Actions on a Document

• Download — save the original file to your computer
• Load into Mapper — opens the Visual Mapping GUI with this document pre-loaded as the source
• Delete — permanently removes the document from your vault (cannot be undone)

Loading a Vault Document into the Mapper

From the Visual Mapping GUI, use the Load from vault… dropdown in the Source panel to pull in any vault document without leaving the mapper. This is the fastest way to iterate on a mapping — store a sample document in the vault, then load it each time you refine your rules.
