Transaction Feed

A real-time log of every EDI document sent and received across all your trading partner connections. Available at /transactions.

What is the Transaction Feed?

The transaction feed is your complete audit trail — every document that has moved through x12port for your account, in reverse-chronological order. Unlike the Pipeline (which tracks order lifecycle) or the Vault (which stores file content), the feed focuses on the event: what was sent or received, when, with whom, and whether it succeeded.

Reading the Feed

ColumnWhat it shows
TimestampDate and time the document was transmitted or received (UTC)
Direction↓ Inbound (received from partner) or ↑ Outbound (sent to partner)
PartnerThe trading partner involved in this transaction
Tx SetThe X12 transaction type (e.g. 850, 856, 810, 997)
Control NumberThe ISA/GS control number for traceability
StatusProcessed, Pending, Error, or Acknowledged
DocumentLink to the document in your vault (if stored)

Transaction Status

StatusMeaning
ProcessedDocument received and stored successfully
AcknowledgedDocument received and a 997 was sent back
PendingDocument in transit or awaiting processing
ErrorTransmission failed or document was rejected — click to see the error detail

Filtering the Feed

Use the filter controls above the feed to narrow down by:

  • Trading partner — see only transactions with a specific partner
  • Transaction set — e.g. show only 856s or 810s
  • Direction — inbound only or outbound only
  • Date range — filter to a specific time window
  • Status — filter to errors only to quickly find issues

Logging a Transaction Manually

Transactions logged through active endpoints are created automatically. If you need to record a transaction that happened outside x12port (e.g. a document sent via a separate system), click + Log Transaction and fill in the details manually.

ℹ️ The transaction feed is your first stop when a trading partner reports they didn't receive a document or received an unexpected one. Filter by partner and date range to find the specific exchange quickly.

Linking to the Document Vault

Each transaction with a linked vault document has a View Document link in the feed. Click it to open the file in the Document Vault where you can download or load it into the mapper.
