The EDI 945 Warehouse Shipping Advice is sent by a 3PL or warehouse back to the goods owner to confirm what was actually shipped in response to a 940 Warehouse Shipping Order. It is the functional equivalent of a ship notice (856) in the 3PL world.

Sent after fulfillment of a 940 Warehouse Shipping Order. Goods owner reconciles 945 against the original 940 to detect shorts, substitutions, and over-shipments.
W0602 (Shipment Identification Number) must be unique per shipment. W1202 (quantity shipped) that differs from the 940 W0102 (quantity ordered) signals a partial fill.
